On Community:
I recently joined #LatinxsWhoDesign community! Thanks to inspiration from one of the designers I met there, I’ve decided to officially start this blog! Quarantine 2020, baby.

On Recent Work:
Lately I’ve been working on a new project with Studio Upstairs, tentatively called Beaut.ai. Originally, the client wanted to create an app where you can match your skin to recommended foundation colors, but after doing the user research and competitive analysis, it looks like we’re making an AI beauty assistant :) More details to come.

On Skills:
Towards the end of May, I started taking an XR (AR/VR) course. It’s getting pretty technical, and since it’s “live” (through zoom), it’s definitely more challenging than I expected. I think I got too used to being able to pause and rewind to take better notes. There’s a case to made for all online classes being recorded for easy review afterwards. I’ll definitely be supplementing this class with some unity tutorials from Ray Wenderlich.

New Developments:
I’ve decided to open up a design-only instagram, so begun a #36DaysofType challenge to ramp it up. The theme I chose for this is Fruits (alternatively titled, “the fruits of your labor”). So A is for apple, B is for banana, and so on! The plan is to complete all 26 letters of the English alphabet, then complete the typography for numbers 0-9. Philosophical Ramblings: While your past defines your present situation, it does not define your future. Your future is defined by your present actions.
